Code of ethics

🟢 FOR CYCLISTS

• We ask cyclists to announce their overtaking either with a bell or verbally, in a courteous and caring manner.
• Respect the limit of 22 km/hour and 10 km/hour maximum when approaching towns and villages and carry out careful maneuvers
• At street crossings, cyclists do not have priority. You must stop and check before crossing. Some street crossings offer priority to pedestrians (or cyclists walking next to the bike)
• Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended
• Electrically assisted bicycles are permitted if they are equipped with functional pedals, according to the road safety code. VAEs must travel a maximum of 22 km/hour in general and 10 km/hour in urban areas.

🟢 WALKERS/RUNNERS

• The walker or runner must travel on the right, in the same direction as the cyclists
• Avoid headphones! To hear the bikes well, it is important to actively listen to ambient noise.

🟢 ALL USERS

• Ride in line
• In-line skating and skateboarding are permitted provided they travel without swaying and to the right of the track.

🟢 Roller skiing is permitted before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m.

• Always clear the track when stopping. Move sideways into the grassy area.
• Do not throw anything on the ground and bring your waste with you to keep the place clean
• Vehicles for people with reduced mobility must travel at a maximum speed of 22KM/hour and 10km/hour in urban areas

🔴 NOT ALLOWED ON THE P’TIT TRAIN DU NORD

• Wild camping is prohibited near the trail
• Pets are not allowed except guide and assistance dogs
• Motorized vehicles cannot travel on the trail except maintenance vehicles which have authorization.
• Electric scooters are not allowed on cycle networks according to the road safety code
• Unauthorized sale and solicitation is prohibited.
• Group events and activities cannot take place without prior authorization.

  Do not use the trail while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  🟠 MOTORIZED PERSONAL TRANSPORT APPARATUS (electric bike, electric scooter, electric moped)

  🟠 Motorized mobility aids (e.g. scooters, electric wheelchairs)

  Motorized mobility aids (MMAs) are devices designed to compensate for an inability to walk. They include electrically-powered wheelchairs, scooters and quadriporters.

  🟠 Motorized personal transport devices (electric scooters, gyroroue)
  With the arrival of the new government decree (spring 2024) the administration of Le P’tit Train du Nord Linear Park is assessing the impact of the arrival of these new uses and the necessary measures to be deployed. In the meantime, we invite fans of electric scooters and gyroscopic devices to consult the Société Automobile du Québec (SAAQ) documentation on regulations.
