Obstruction and detour for cyclists and pedestrians in Mont-Tremblant

Culvert replacement work on the route of the P’tit Train Nord linear park in Mont-Tremblant

Saint-Jérôme, August 20, 2021. – The Ministère des Transports informs road users that culvert replacement work, located on the route of the P’tit Train du Nord linear park, in Mont-Tremblant, will be carried out from August 23 to November 5. A complete closure of the bike path will be necessary for the entire duration of the work over a distance of 2.1 km, between Chemin du Lac-Gélinas and Chemin du Lac-Mercier.
The work will consist of the demolition of the old structure, built in 1937, consisting of three circular steel culverts, in order to replace it with a new prefabricated concrete structure.

Detour path

The establishment of a designated roadway, shared between motorists and cyclists, will be developed via the Lac-Gélinas, Pont-de-Fer, du Village (route 327) and Lac-Mercier paths, in order to ensure the safety of users traveling on the route of the linear park.
Appropriate signage will be put in place all along the 2.8 km route.
This detour represents an additional 700 meters to the course located on the linear park trail. In addition, the detour path is expected to have a 10% incline in front of the Jim Russell Karting Academy, which is unusual for the route.
