Trail conditions

TRAIL UPDATE –

TRAIL UPDATE – Thuesday, November 13, 2025, 12 p.m.

We know… many of us are eager to get out and play in the snow!
But after a field assessment and our operator’s report, the picture is a little less magical than expected — the snow is wet, saturated with water, and barely 15 cm thick.

It’s unfortunately not possible to provide suitable conditions for cross-country skiing this weekend.
The trail will therefore remain closed for now.

With the mild temperatures and melting snow expected over the next few days, we can’t yet build a solid base. And since the trail is heavily used, an early opening would bring the gravel back up and damage the surface for the rest of the season.

The same goes for fatbiking and walking — the tracks would quickly reach the ground and undo the work already done.

Let’s stay positive — winter is on its way!
Just a little more patience, and we’ll soon be talking about real winter conditions.

🚧 End of Summer Season

Le P’tit Train du Nord is now officially closed for the 2025 summer season

An essential transition period

Since November 3, the park has entered its winter preparation phase.
During this period, crews are working along the trail to replace signage, carry out maintenance tasks, and prepare infrastructure for the cold season ahead.

As the patrol service has ended its operations, we ask users not to access the trail during the off-season to ensure everyone’s safety and to protect the trail surface.
The freeze–thaw cycles weaken the trail base and can create ruts in unpaved sections.

👉 Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Stay tuned for the official opening of the winter season, which will depend on weather conditions.
